Redfish Bite Heating Up

Received this text this morning from yesterdays clients. Means a lot when they reach out to me after the trip ❤️. It was a Though bite yesterday trying to catch keepers but they had a blast and caught a variety of fish What a great family and the most well mannered kids I have ever had on my boat from Missouri. " Wow thank you for raising your kids right! They were awesome!
Clients: Just wanted to say thank you so much for taking my boys out yesterday. They had a blast. Rick was so impressed with you and how well you worked with Zane. He also mentioned that not once did you say a cuss word or make crude comments. In today’s world that means a lot!
We will definitely pass your name around. The boys loved their experience even without having a lot of “keepers”.
I think alot of times their are Anglers/Guides that lose sight of why we do this. It's not all about the biggest and most. It's about sharing and creating memories with people and teaching them about our Nature coast. They are just happy to be out there on the water. Iam hard on myself always feeling like I'm not doing good enough but then when you see the excitement on their faces over a puffer fish or a dolphin swimming by them, it reminds me of how blessed Iam to be out there doing what I love. ❤️

Family wins > keepers every time

Captain Michael Haynes and I did some scouting for some crappie and bass this morning. Weather heated up quickly but still produced some quality fish. 😎🎣

My Georgia group got it done today! One of the guys loves to bass fish so he had to practice on not setting the hook so much and he did great! 😄 The bite today was up and down but they managed to get enough for dinner! "Great job you guys," it was a pleasure having you on the boat! Love them Georgia Folks!

Today we let the wind lead us to the Beautiful Withlacoochie River! Where we caught some nice Largemouth and let them go to grow! Withlacoochie river is one of my favorite places to freshwater fish and enjoy the gorgeous peaceful views. We then cruised down river to lake rousseau till the wind shoved us to back up river to Swampy's Bar and Grille on the with a scenic deck right on the Rainbow River, serving Cajun fare, burgers & fish tacos! Love their cheese grits and Cajun style cooking. 😋
Another day in Paradise!

For saltwater fishing charters, some of the fish I target are Redfish, Trout, and Snook. Freshwater fishing trips include Large Mouth Bass, Panfish, Spec, and many others. Don't forget about scalloping tours and scenic ones too! From The CaptainBorn in Citrus County, Captain Misty Kelly spent her earliest years on the water in Key West, where her family lived at a marina so her father could follow his passion as a charter boat captain. Surrounded by the sights and sounds of the ocean, Misty learned the ropes of sportfishing from her father, Captain Jack Kelly of Windy Day, and her sister, Lori Parker of The New Wave. Those formative years instilled in her a deep love for the water and a foundation of knowledge that would guide her through decades of fishing experience. Returning to Citrus County at age 12, Misty began exploring the nature coast’s freshwater lakes, rivers, and coastal waters. By age 15, she was already mastering both fresh and saltwater fishing techniques, gaining an intimate understanding of local tides, species behaviors, and the hidden spots that make Citrus County a top destination for anglers. Her years of hands-on experience have made her a trusted guide for guests seeking both a productive and enjoyable fishing experience. As a mother of three, Misty brings patience, care, and a family-friendly approach to every outing. She loves introducing young anglers to the sport, recommending trips for children five and older, and emphasizing comfort and fun for everyone on board. Her calm and experienced guidance ensures guests of all ages feel safe and confident, even when learning new techniques or exploring the waterways for the first time.
The Windy Day II Fishing Charter Boat
Captain Misty’s 21-foot Xpress aluminum boat, powered by a 115 HP Mercury four-stroke engine, is built for a safe, comfortable, and reliable fishing experience in Crystal River.
