Welcome to Windy Day II Fishing Charters, with your Captain, Misty Kelly - Licensed, Insured, and more than 30 years of fishing experience! I provide Saltwater and freshwater fishing Charters in Citrus County, Florida. Bring the family - all ages are welcome. For saltwater fishing charters, some of the fish I target are Redfish, Trout, and Snook. Freshwater fishing trips include Large Mouth Bass, Panfish, Spec, and many others. Don't forget about scalloping tours and scenic ones too! 

From The Captain

Born in Citrus County, Captain Misty Kelly spent her earliest years on the water in Key West, where her family lived at a marina so her father could follow his passion as a charter boat captain. Surrounded by the sights and sounds of the ocean, Misty learned the ropes of sportfishing from her father, Captain Jack Kelly of Windy Day, and her sister, Lori Parker of The New Wave. Those formative years instilled in her a deep love for the water and a foundation of knowledge that would guide her through decades of fishing experience.

Returning to Citrus County at age 12, Misty began exploring the nature coast’s freshwater lakes, rivers, and coastal waters. By age 15, she was already mastering both fresh and saltwater fishing techniques, gaining an intimate understanding of local tides, species behaviors, and the hidden spots that make Citrus County a top destination for anglers. Her years of hands-on experience have made her a trusted guide for guests seeking both a productive and enjoyable fishing experience.

As a mother of three, Misty brings patience, care, and a family-friendly approach to every outing. She loves introducing young anglers to the sport, recommending trips for children five and older, and emphasizing comfort and fun for everyone on board. Her calm and experienced guidance ensures guests of all ages feel safe and confident, even when learning new techniques or exploring the waterways for the first time.

The Windy Day II Fishing Charter Boat

Captain Misty’s 21-foot Xpress aluminum boat, powered by a 115 HP Mercury four-stroke engine, is built for a safe, comfortable, and reliable fishing experience in Crystal River. Equipped with modern electronics, including GPS and a fishfinder, it allows Misty to navigate and locate fish efficiently, making the most of every trip. The boat’s spacious design comfortably accommodates up to four guests, providing plenty of room for families or small groups. With its combination of comfort, reliability, and top-of-the-line features, the Windy Day II ensures that every adventure on the water is as enjoyable and stress-free as possible.
